At Last: A Low Sugar Vegan Bar
MyProtein have offered great plant-based protein bars for ages now, but tasty as they are, I've had to use them sparingly as often the active carbs per bar would be far above what I'd normally consider consuming. Making my own was the solution. However, an upcoming 3 week holiday would make this very tricky as homemade bars don't keep so well out of the fridge! So these have appeared at a very good time. I ordered the peanut butter and salted chocolate versions. Both taste great and are light in texture instead of being chewy and claggy like a lot of protein bars. My one quibble is the slightly dry, powdery mouth feel. Adding some more fat to the recipe would improve this (and be of benefit to keto vegans, or regular keto-eaters who want some variety in the protein department). A layer of nut butter or coconut butter/cream would be amazing. Fair play to MyProtein who spotted a gap in the market for a plant-based low sugar bar for the UK and Ireland. This will be a regular order for me. Goes Well With:A hot drink Warming the bar and adding some nut butter or coconut cream on top makes an extra yummy treat

These bars would turn any vegan into a carnivore. I'd compare them to eating a scoop of protein powder directly into the mouth. Dry, strange tasting, gut altering rubbish. Goes Well With:4 Gallons of water.

I get the bad reviews BUT...
The reviewers saying these are the worst and chalkiest bars in the world just expect them to be candy bars and well they should just stick to sugar packed chocolate bars then. These are absolutely tasty, yes they are a bit on the drier side but I absolutely love that texture. If you have ever had halva the texture is very much similar. And the taste!!! They are not sickly sweet like other protein bars, they have a nice and mild taste that is not overpowering. My favourite is the chocolate peanut but the chocolate sea salt and banoffee pie are great as well (I have not tasted the chocolate orange ones). Only minus is that at first when I tried them they were getting me quite bloated and seemed hard to digest but over time my stomach got used to them. Maybe the amount of fiber could be reduced a bit as 11g can be a bit overwhelming. But, nevertheless, I am just about to order my next 12-pack of Chocolate peanut ones to enjoy.Goes Well With:Coffee as a mid morning or noon snack; With fruit as a light meal on the run.

ONE OF THE BEST PROTEIN BARS! No lie. I absolutely love all three flavours and regularly cycle between them all. However, if i *had* to choose I'd say: 1. choc peanut butter 2. choc orange 3. choc sea salt Great taste and texture for a vegan protein bar. love the crunchy toppings on the bar.Goes Well With:Great mid-morning or afternoon snack with a good cup of tea / coffee

Bought these in clearance sale for fairly cheap, bannoffee flavour. One of the better tasting protein bars I’ve had. Flavour is absolutely lovely and texture is much nicer than most bars, really soft and crumbly, lovely. Goes Well With:A brew

Wouldnt buy again
You might be thinking to yourself, "wow this looks pretty good for the price", and you'd be right, In terms of macros, this pretty much hits well for the price against most of the competition. In terms of taste, my goodness I can't believe anybody in testing thought this would be a great hit. Its so dry i want to mix it with water and make a protein shake out of it, it would probably go down much better. Considering the high amount of fat in here I'm surprised the texture and flavor could be so poor. If your looking for a vegan keto friendly ish bar with a decent hit of protein, and care about low price and not at all about flavor, this is for youGoes Well With:1.5 litre water and 0 taste buds
